Fletching is a great skill for money making and exp. It teaches you how to create bows, arrows and more from wood.
The main tool used in fletching is a knife. To start fletching, use a knife with some logs. You will be presented with this screen:

If you right click on a selection you can choose how many of these you would like to make.
ArrowsTo create arrows, you must first start by using a knife with normal logs to make '15 Arrow Shafts' from one log.
You must then add a feather to each of these arrow shafts which will give you headless arrows.
Get some arrow tips (can be made with the Smithing skill or bought) and use them on the headless arrows. You should've now made some arrows depending on what type of arrow tips you added.
For each arrow shaft you fletch you get 0.33 experience. So for 1 log (15 arrow shafts) that's 4.95 experience.
For each headless arrow you make (feather+arrow shaft) you get 1 experience. So for the 15 shafts you made + 15 featheres you would get 15 experience.

You will need to get to level 5 fletching before you can make your first bow.
Use a knife on some logs (e.g. oak logs if you want an oak bow) and choose what you would like to fletch. Longbows give more experience.
You will also need to string your bows with Bow String. This can be bought or made by spinning Flax on a spinning wheel. To attatch the string just use it on the unstrung bows.
You will get half the experience for fletching the wood into a bow and then the other half for attatching the string.

Darts are very simple/easy to make and are a great ranged weapon.
Just use the Smithing skill to make some dart tips and then add feathers by using them on the dart tips. It's 1 feather per dart.

The first step to making crossbows is to use a knife on the desired logs as listed below to make a Crossbow Stock, see pic on left. E.g. for willow stock - on willow logs.| Stock | Limbs

To make a Blurite crossbow you will need to have completed The Knight's Sword quest. (free to play.)
Once you have the stock (made or bought), you must use the stock with the limbs. You will need to have a Hammer in your inventory to do this.
You should now have an unstrung crossbow.
The next step is to string it. For this you will need Crossbow String. This can be bought or made using the Crafting Skill. Use it with the unstrung crossbow to string it.| Level | Name | XP (Stock) | XP (Attatching Limbs) | XP (Stringing Bow) | XP Total

You can use fletching to make bolts. You will have to create the bolts first using the Smithing skill (or crafting for silver bolt), but they will be unfinished. You will need to add flights (feathers).
Use the flights (feathers) on the unfinished bolts to complete them. You will need to have the required fletching level as listed below. You will add 10 at a time. 1 flight per bolt.| Level | Name | XP Per Bolt | XP Per Batch(10)

You can also attatch tips to your bolts with the fletching skill.
Obtaining the tipsMost tips are made from gems, so using a chisel on them will give you the option to make bolt tips. The Mithril Grapple is made using the Smithing skill.
Adding the tipsAdding the tips is easy, just use the tips with the required bolt type.

You can use the Summoning Skill to help you with fletching by summoning a Beaver. When it is summoned it acts as a knife - so you will have one extra space in your inventory.
